Remy has the reflexes of Mr Miyagi when it comes to bugs! He catches things that I didn’t think were catchable. He’ll find moths, ants, beetles, crickets, lightning bugs (classic!), butterflies, yes – a fly, and here he has a grasshopper. He’ll usually be gentle enough that the bug can go back to its day to day life after he’s played with it. We’ve finally been able to talk him into not holding everything he catches hostage. Or he’ll at least let it go within a couple hours. But whenever he catches them I think of that poor guy on Bug’s Life — the bug that had its wings torn off by a kid, sitting on the street like a hobo with a sign. So I try to prevent that as much as possible, but c’mon, he’s a boy!
