This mean looking guy was watching as my husband built a dog pen in our backyard. It looks like a dinosaur bug with that thing on its back! Gross! I did a Google search for ‘dinosaur bug’ and this link was the first thing that popped up. Now that I know the name is ‘Wheel Bug’ I could look them up on my favorite site: Wikipedia! Now, about a year ago we had this swarm of weird spider-ish looking bugs all over a rotted log in our back yard. Their bodies were red-orange. We didn’t know what they were, and now I see that they were the nymphs of these nasty things. Great. We have a whole brood of these dang things in our back yard. They have a helluva bite. Well, now I have a picture so I can warn the kiddos.

Oh I know! It makes my stomach churn to look at photos of bugs and thinking back to those little baby ones all over the place! EWWW
